Herbie Driving School

On first meeting your Driving Instructor, please bring with you:

1. A valid provisional licence; either the "Old" style paper licence with a valid passport or "New" style with photo identification with the paper counterpart.
2. Theory Test certificate (only required if already passed).
3. Glasses or contact lenses, if you have poor eyesight - The distance requirement for the old-style number plate is 20.5 metres. The distance requirement for the eyesight test with the new-style number plate is 20 metres. New-style number plates were introduced on 1 September 2001 and are easily identifiable because they start with two letters ie AB51 ABC.

Paying by Cash or Cheque:

Please note, at least one driving lesson or driving course must be paid in advance (should you wish to carry on after your current lesson). This is to cover short notice cancellations (please see below). Cheques should be made payable to Shiraz Lakha.

SPECIAL OFFER: First Five Driving Lessons: £95 (5 Hours)

This offer applies to any new pupil. The offer is seperate to all other price plans. Please note, one offer per pupil. These driving lessons must be taken separately, or as a double lesson. All 5 lessons must be used within 12 weeks. If you would like more driving lessons in a single day, please try the Intensive Driving Course.

Single/Assessment/Refresher Lesson: £23 (1 Hour)

These driving lessons are designed for pupils who prefer single lessons, would like an assessment on their progress to date, or just need refreshing after passing their test.

Motorway Driving Lesson: £24 (1 Hour)

This driving lesson is designed for pupils who have already passed their Practical Driving Test and require experience on Motorway driving. Where you live will depend on how many driving lessons will be needed to get there and back.

10 Driving Lessons Block: £220 (10 Hours)

Please note, these driving lessons must be taken separately, or as a double lesson. All 10 lessons must be used within 12 weeks. If you would like more driving lessons in a single day, please try the Intensive Driving Course.

1 Day Intensive Driving Course: £150 (6 Hours including 1 Hour Break)

This driving course is designed for pupils who are unable to study in between lessons, or who find it difficult to retain information. There is plenty of time to practice and recap throughout the day. The Driving Course is also useful for pupils who have a test coming up. Times, for example are 10am till 4pm, which includes 1 hour break. However, these times are flexible.

Pass Plus Driving Course: £150 (6 Hours Taken Seperately)

This driving course is designed for pupils wishing to improve their skills after passing the Practical Driving Test, and to reduce the cost of their insurance. The driving course includes 6 hourly driving lessons, including motorway driving, night driving, rural driving. You must complete each module successfully in order to claim the Pass Plus certificate from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). If you need more time, additional lessons will be at the "Single" driving lesson price. You may benefit from cash-back on the cost of this Pass Plus Course - see www.dsa.gov.uk for more information. Hire of Car for Practical Test: £85 (Includes 90 minute driving lesson before Practical Driving Test) Please note, payments are to be made 1 week in advance. This includes a 90min driving lesson before the actual test. Pick-up is from agreed address. You must use your instructor's car to take your test and may only take your test if your instructor feels you are ready.

Cancellations:

Please note, all booked lessons, changed or cancelled without at least 48 hours notice, from the time you have booked, must be paid for. Driving courses and "Hire of Car for Practical Test" fee require at least 1 week notice. Your Driving Instructor is responsible to give you at least 48 hours notice to cancel lessons, too. If not, you will not be charged for your next short-notice cancellation. Please, however, try to keep to your appointments.

Refunds:

It is your right to a refund for any reason as long as you give at least 48 hours notice. Driving courses and "Hire of Car for Practical Test fee" require at least 1 week notice. There will be a 10% administration charge on any refunds. So, please be sure you wish to continue before booking future driving lessons. Refunds will be sent to you via cheque.
